I am pleased to welcome all stakeholders; Lecturers, Students and the Management to the faculty webpage. The Faculty of Arts and Education is one of the founding and important Faculties in Yobe State University which was established in 2008. It consists of the largest number of specialized academic staff of 107 lecturers and among the largest colleges containing students of about 2,273 at the beginning of the 2019/2020 academic session.

Our key services are teaching, research, and community services. Through our Faculty staff commitment, the Faculty aims to graduate students who are competent in their own field as well as to develop student’s skills in community services, leadership and entrepreneurship. Therefore, the Faculty is keen to offer various programs that award bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees based on the curriculum designed to meet up with the needs of the labor market. Taking into account the quality standards and the minimum criteria of NUC (National Universities Commission), the Faculty has earned national and international recognition.

The Faculty has six Departments, namely; Department of African Languages and Linguistics, Arabic, English, Education and Islamic Studies. Henceforth, it hopes to strive to expand its programs to meet up with the needs of Yobe State in particular and Nigeria in general. My fellow faculty members, this faculty attempts to inculcate teamwork ethics in order to provide a productive working environment and build students’ capabilities making them productive members of the society as well as empower them to achieve the success which they aspire. With my best regards to you all.
