Prof. Daura Mourns the Passing of Former Yobe Governor, Sen. Bukar Abba Ibrahim.


The Vice-Chancellor of Yobe State University, Prof. Mala Mohammed Daura, has joined thousands of dignitaries in mourning the death of the former Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency, Sen. Bukar Abba Ibrahim.


The Vice-Chancellor said the late elder statesman played a crucial role in promoting peace, development and education in Yobe State and Nigeria at large revealing that he was the founder of the University; describing the death as a colossal loss to the good people of Yobe State and the county in general.


Prof. Daura said the former Governor was a great leader, politician, philanthropist, father and grandfather to many who contributed immensely to peace, development and education in the state.


In his condolence message, Prof. Daura said, “On behalf of the Management, Staff and the University Community, I wish to convey our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Government and people of Yobe State, more particularly the immediate family of the deceased and the Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, on the passing of Sen. Bukar Abba Ibrahim. May Allah SWT accept his good deeds, forgive his sins and make Jannah his final abode”.
